Hundreds of players from different walks of life took part

Glasgow (Mandeep Khurmi Himmatpura) The Scottish Ethnic Minority Sports Association (SEMSA), a reputed organization in Scotland, has been active for a long time. This year’s badminton tournament is being held at the National Badminton Academy in Scottsdon, with the winners of the first round being honored. President Dilawar Singh, Secretary Mrs. Maridula Chakraborty, Trustee Mrs. Kamaljit Minhas, Club Secretary Rocky, Board Member Mr. Gregg, Club Sub Committee Member Mr. Binder Gosal and all the members competed tirelessly in hundreds of different categories. In the men’s singles, Daniel Thomas was the winner while Thomas Cairns was the runner-up. In the men’s doubles, Robert McLean and Greg Gillan were the winners, while Faisal Shahid and Arsenal Khalil were runners up. In the mixed doubles, Anshita and Lakshya defeated Peter and Claire in the final. In the ladies singles, Ashita Jaiswal was the winner and Claire Keegan was the runner up. In the ladies doubles, Nadia Qayam and Claire Keegan defeated Karitka and Reena. Similarly, in the under-16 competitions, Lakshya was the winner and Niv Lukh was the runner-up. Peter McAfee and Brian McAfee won the over 50 category while Greg Thomas and John Russell were runners up. Samsa President Dilawar Singh congratulated all the winners and encouraged the players who were lagging behind in the competitions to work harder and move forward with enthusiasm.
